The son of a tobacco seller in Western UP, he waded through deep waters to rise up to pursue excellence and strived hard to promote quality health care.
Dr Dinesh Arora has been credited as a brilliant Pulmonologist of high academic renown. He completed his MBBS way back in 1971 and Post Graduation in 1975 from the prestigious GSVM Medical College, Kanpur. He eventually went on to establish the 100-bedded Yashoda Hospital in Nehru Nagar in 1990. This has been ascribed as the first hospital to bring in the concept of Intensive Care/ Critical Care in the Western region of Uttar Pradesh.
In 2001 the hospital added an additional 200 beds with the facility being inaugurated by the then Deputy Prime Minister Shri LK Advani. The hospital was further upgraded as a Super Speciality at Kaushambi in 2006 with state-of-art equipment and consultants with rich overseas experience. Ever since, the hospital has grown leaps and bounds and became a 500-bedded NABH/NABL accredited tertiary care referral hospital that caters to the entire western UP and NCR. This was inaugurated by the Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh on.
For Dr Dinesh Arora, excellence is non-negotiable and hence he has meticulously strategized and planned the operation of hospitals in National Capital Region, Delhi. He firmly believes that customizing healthcare solutions to varying socio-economic, geographic and demographic imperatives is the most appropriate way to handle country’s health problems especially in the context of rural India. He has been working with the missionary zeal to educate rural masses on medical education by frequently organizing camps to focus on issues like sanitation, personal hygiene, periodic medical check-ups, nutrition, safe drinking water, female healthcare, childcare, basic life saving techniques, basic life support training and creation of village level health committees. These steps have resulted in strengthening the rural healthcare delivery system, thus ameliorating the health standards of rural masses.
